Digital Studio: Art Without Borders

One of the changes we see in the art world is the dependence of many artists on digital editing and Internet presentation. This allows artists all over the world to share work instantly.

Christian Marclay

Christian Marclay's 'The Clock' is constructed out of moments in cinema when time is expressed or when a character interacts with a clock, watch or just a particular time of day. Marclay has excerpted thousands of these fragments and edited them so that they flow in real time. While 'The Clock' examines how time, plot and duration are depicted in cinema, the video is also a working timepiece that is synchronised to the local time zone.

I was inspired to examine time with the help of students in Digital Studio. Here is the video that depends on using other people's video, recreating a new expression about time and everyday life of college students.
